The Big Move - May 21, 2010
It really is about to happen...as of June 17, 2010 I am back in Denmark and playing music and writing again more or less full time. Hopefully more than less! I have loved my time at home in the US and I have enjoyed much about having a full time day job and being part of government.
But, I guess the die was cast for me many, many years ago...
I was born to sing for people, tell tales, tell jokes, write songs, write stories and entertain...I can do that in Denmark. For reasons I cannot explain, I have found an audience there for what I do.
The idea of having to account for my whereabouts to a boss just never settled comfortably around my neck...and I have had some great and tolerant bosses!!
But if there is a song to write or a story to tell, I want to go! And I regret every opportunity missed...
I will miss my family, my American friends, baseball and weekends in Ocean City the most, I think...
But we land in Denmark on June 17 and on June 18 I hit the road for a five day run on the Danish island of Bornholm, playing my music with the great pianist Morten Wittrock...and it goes on from there.
It gets hard...but it also feels like what I was born to do...
The Jes Holtso CD that I wrote the songs for is doing better than I could have dreamed of...and he is based in Denmark. There is at least one more CD to do there, and the reviews have generated interest from other artists as well,,,
The time just seems right...
I will be doing stateside dates and I will Keep everyone posted via emails and the website.
Thanks for the support you have all shown my family and myself while we have been stateside...and we look so much forward to seeing all of our Danish friends again...
As always, peace...and don't look back!!!
